YOUTH SCHOOL

The new youth school consists of 4 floors and 9000 m2 with top-class science facilities, football stadium. the list of impressive facilities is long. The school is designed for 750 students and will be open to new pupils February 21st 2018.

At Gystadmarka Junior School, interactive tables are organized in all teaching rooms, giving even greater opportunity to use the devices in teaching effectively. There is a wish that this school will provide a way for future schools and it pioneer for ICT solutions for Norwegian schools.

First in the Nordic countries

– Gystadmarka Youth School is the first school in the Nordic region to invest in the solution with the latest and most advanced interactive displays for SMART Technologies in all classrooms. This is also by far the biggest single investment in this solution in the Nordic region, and one of the very first schools in the world to receive such displays in all classrooms, says Interactive Norway, which is the supplier of the solution.

Knowledge staircase is one of the first things you see when entering the main entrance of the school. Soon it will be filled with lively lives and knowledge-driven students.

Background

In May 2013, the municipality of Ullensaker decided that there would be a new youth school in Gystadmarka.
In October 2014, Ullensaker decided that the construction of the youth school in connection with the UKI Arena should be implemented as an OPS model (public private partnership).
Ullensaker municipality awarded Skuleplass AS (subsidiary of Veidekke) contract January 2016.
Lease agreement for Ullensaker municipality is over 25 years.
