Four Design Supports Sustainable Development
Four Design is an international company which is aware of the company’s influence on its surroundings. Four Design is also a local operator with stakeholders both inside as well as outside the company.
Four Design supports social activities in different ways in order to take social responsibility in the Danish society. We support “The Danish Childhood Cancer Organization”.
This policy states the ethical standards by which we operate, and which we expect all our business partners to respect and uphold. Our CSR-Policy and ethical conduct are implemented by all employees of Four Design. The Code of Conduct is published on our website and in our employee manual, and it guides the signing of internal and external agreements.
For Four Design the objective of the CSR-Policy is to contribute to a stabile development of our society and to responsibly strive to reduce negative effects of our decisions and actions.
We must act ethically, open and pay regards to the expectations of our surroundings. Four Design respects existing laws and considers international standards and opinions.
Four Design’s CSR-Policy is based on United Nation’s ‘The Global Compact’.

Policy for Human Rights
The policy for Four Design’s view on human rights is based on principle 1 and 2 in ‘The Global Compact’.
- Principle 1: Businesses should support and respect the protection of internationally proclaimed human rights within their sphere of influence.
- Principle 2: Make sure they are not complicit in human rights abuses.
For Four Design this incorporates supporting and respecting the principles in protecting the international human rights. We must ensure that our company observes these rights, and that they are not violated.
In client and supplier relationships and when interacting with the surroundings, the employees of Four Design must work ethically and with high business standards to avoid involvement in relations and activities that violate human rights.
Policy for Working Conditions
The policy of Four Design’s view on working conditions is based on principle 3, 4, 5 and 6 in ‘The Global Compact’.
- Principle 3: Businesses should uphold the freedom of association and the effective recognition of the right to collective bargaining.
- Principle 4: The elimination of all forms of forced and compulsory labour.
- Principle 5: The effective abolition of child labour.
- Principle 6: The elimination of discrimination in respect of employment and occupation.
For Four Design this incorporates creating working conditions that correspond with these principles and which respect existing laws and regulations. Four Design must avoid business transactions that violate these principles.
All employees must be allowed to develop the skills required to manage their tasks, and they must be allowed career promoting opportunities.
Policy for Environmental Considerations
Four Design is ISO14001 certified. The policy for Four Design’s view on the environment is based on principle 7, 8 and 9 in ‘The Global Compact’:
- Principle 7: Business should support a precautionary approach to environmental challenges.
- Principle 8: Undertake initiatives to promote greater environmental responsibility.
- Principle 9: Encourage the development and diffusion of environmentally friendly technologies.
For Four Design this incorporates considering risks from an environmental perspective. We must have knowledge about global environmental questions and strive to increase our influence directly and positively in our company.
All material used in our company must come from suppliers who work actively to ensure that their materials are sustainable. Wooden material must, as far as possible, come from FSC-approved companies.
All packaging must be reduced to an appropriate level in order to reduce strain on the environment. The packaging must meet the demands to sustainability, and it must be reusable or recyclable.
Whenever practically possible, all products must be recyclable, and there must be a plan for enabling reuse or recycling of used and worn-out products.
Environmental questions must have an impact on our product development, and on how our company plan to obtain continuous significant environmental effects.
Policy Against Corruption
The policy for Four Design’s view on corruption is based on principle 10 in ‘The Global Compact’:
- Principle 10: Businesses should work against corruption in all its forms, including extortion and bribery.
For Four Design this incorporates demonstrating honesty, sincerity and integrity in the collaboration between employees and Four Design’s stakeholders and our surroundings.
None of Four Design’s employees may receive or give payment, gifts or other presents, which can influence, or be perceived as an attempt to influence, the objectivity in business decisions.
Four Design must run its company in full agreement with current laws and regulations which promote free trade and competition.
Employees who find themselves in a situation where they are at risk of landing in a conflict of interest with Four Design’s Policy, must immediately report to their management to find a solution to any conflict of interest.
Observing this Policy
It is the group management’s responsibility to uphold Four Design’s CSR-policy and Code of Conduct. Furthermore, all managers within their area of responsibility are obliged to ensure that all employees and business partners are informed about the content of the Policy, and that observing it is mandatory.
